Pada hari Sabtu 29 November 2022, Direktorat Perpustakaan Universitas Islam kedatangan tamu dari Mahasiswa Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga. Mahasiswa yang datang tersebut terdiri dari 4 orang mahasiswa. Kunjungan ke Direktorat Perpustakaan UII disambut oleh Direktur Direktorat Perpustakaan UII yaitu Muhammad Jamil, SIP dan Neneng Asaniyah, S.I.Pust selaku Kepala Divisi Pengadaan, Administrasi Umum dan Keuangan di Direktorat Perpustakaan UII. Tujuan dari kunjungan tersebut adalah untuk melakukan penelitian mengenai “Pengadaan Koleksi Buku di Perpustakaan UII”. Pada dasarnya Pengadaan Koleksi Buku ini dimaksudkan agar koleksi perpustakaan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna atau pengunjung. Kesesuain ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemanfaatan koleksi perpustakaan.

Rombongan Kepala dan Staf Unit Pelaksana Teknis (UPT) Perpustakaan Universitas Slamet Riyadi Surakarta melaksanakan studi banding ke Direktorat Perpustakaan Universitas Islam Indonesia (DP UII) pada Selasa, 14 Agustus 2018 kurang lebih pukul 10.00 s.d. 14.00 WIB. Peserta 9 (sembilan) orang pustakawan dari seluruh perpustakaan di UNISRI yang dipimpin oleh Kepala UPT Perpustakaan UNISRI Bapak Suharno, S.E.
Rombongan diterima oleh Joko Sugeng Prianto, SIP., M.Hum. selaku Direktur Perpustakaan dan didampingi oleh para Kepala Divisi Direktorat Perpustakaan (DP) UII di ruang sidang lantai II DP UII. Rangkaian acara diawali sambutan dari Direktur Perpustakaan dan sambutan dari Kepala UPT Perpustakaan UNISRI yang menyampaikan maksud dan tujuan studi banding, yaitu ingin mengetahui tentang pengalaman mengikuti proses akreditasi Perpustakaan UII dan juga ingin melihat kondisi riil di lapangan pada bagian-bagian pelayanan pemakai, tata ruang koleksi, manajemen koleksi, sarana prasarana perpustakaan dan pelayanan teknis.
Usainya sambutan dilakukan pemutaran film profil Direktorat Perpustakaan UII, dilanjutkan dengan presentasi “Berbagi Pengalaman Akreditasi Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi” oleh Direktur Perpustakaan. Materi presentasi berkaitan dengan proses langkah-langkah akreditasi mulai dari perencanaan, pembentukan tim kerja, penilaian mandiri borang akreditasi, menyiapkan data pendukung untuk akreditasi, persiapan visitasi, hingga visitasi lapangan oleh asesor. Untuk memotivasi rekan-rekan dari UPT Perpustakaan UNISRI juga diinfokan nilai yang dicapai oleh direktorat Perpustakaan UII. Alhamdulillah DP UII mendapat ridlo dari Alloh SWT dari akreditasi perpustakaan tahun 2014 hingga re-akreditasi tahun 2018 bertahan mendapat nilai “A”. Selesai presentasi dilanjutkan dengan diskusi berkaitan dengan akreditasi perpustakaan hingga kegiatan kepustakawanan yang sudah dilakukan oleh kedua belah pihak di DP UII dan UPT. Acara diakhiri dengan mengunjungi unit-unit di DP UII, yaitu di Divisi Pelayanan Pemakai dan bagian terkait, Divisi Pelayanan Teknis, serta mengunjungi Museum dan Candi Kimpulan di Direktorat Perpustakaan Gedung Moh. Direktorat Perpustakaan Universitas Islam Indonesia (DP UII) menerima kunjungan yang kedua kalinya dari Perpustakaan Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta, pada hari Kamis, 24 Mei 2018 pukul 10.00 wib. – 12.00 wib. Kunjungan kedua kali ini dimaksudkan untuk memperoleh informasi yang berkaitan dengan Jabatan Fungsional Pustakawan di Universitas Islam Indonesia. Peserta berjumlah 13 (tiga belas) orang dipimpin oleh Drs. Tedy Setiadi, MT selaku Kepala Perpustakaan.
Peserta studi banding diterima di Ruang Sidang lantai 2 oleh Direktur dan Pustakawan yang bertugas menangani pengajuan Angka Kredit Pustakawan dan Pengembangan Pustakawan. Pada kesempatan ini Direktur DP UII menyampaikan selamat datang. Di bulan Ramadhan yang penuh berkah ini, semoga Allah Swt meridhoi pertemuan ini sehingga bisa bermanfaat bagi kedua institusi masing-masing.
Dalam sambutan Direktur DP Joko Sugeng Prianto, SIP., M.Hum terlebih dahulu memperkenalkan pustakawan yang bertugas menangani pengajuan Angka Kredit Pustakawan dan Pengembangan Pustakawan di lingkungan DP UII. Selanjutnya ditampilkan presentasi profil Direktorat Perpustakaan UII dan pengantar diskusi tentang pengenalan jabatan fungsional pustakawan di UII.
Kepala Perpustakaan UAD Drs. Tedy Setiadi, MT menyampaikan maksud dan tujuan kunjungannya ke DP UII adalah untuk mencari informasi tentang Penerapan Jabatan Fungsional di UII, Penghitungan Angka Kredit Pustakawan, Tim Penilai dan Pembinaan Sumber daya manusia.
Mengawali diskusi, Admiko Suharto, SIP sebagai Pustakawan Senior dan sekaligus selaku Sekretariat Pustakawan menceritakan sejarah pengangkatan jabatan fungsional pustakawan di UII dari awal sampai saat ini. Diantaranya diceritakan tentang masalah inpassing pustakawan, pembentukan Tim Penilai Daftar Pengajuan Angka Kredit Pustakawan (DUPAK), tata cara pengacuan DUPAK Pustakawan.
Selanjutnya Sungadi S.Sos., MIP salah satu Tim Penilai Dupak Pustakawan UII menyampaikan tata cara penghitungan angka kredit berdasarkan peraturan yang berlaku di UII. Beliau juga memberikan motivasi dan berbagi pengalamannya dalam mengajukan DUPAK agar bisa cepat dan lancar.
Tim Penilai DUPAK terdiri dari eksternal dan internal. Tim eksternal adalah dua orang yang dahulu pustakawan utama dari Universitas Gadjah Mada yakni Drs Lasa Hs, MSi dan Drs. Purwono, SIP., MSi. Sedangkan tim internal terdiri dari Wakil Rektor II, Direktur DOSDM, Direktur DP, Anggota dari Pustakawan dan Wakil Dekan jika yang mengajukan pustakawan dari Perpustakaan Fakultas.
Sementara itu Suharti, SIP Kadiv PAK menyampaikan dalam pengembangan SDM di UII, dilakukan berbagai kegiatan seperti workshop, seminar, kursus, pelatihan, studi lanjut dan sebagainya. Kegiatan pengembangan SDM ini ada yang dilakukan secara internal maupun eksternal. Kegiatan internal seperti penyelenggaraan workshop, seminar, pelatihan di lingkungan UII. Sedangkan pengembangan secara eksternal seperti mengirimkan pustakawan untuk mengikuti workshop, seminar, pelatihan, kursus yang diselenggarakan oleh pihak di luar UII.
Diskusi diakhiri dengan tanya jawab dan rombongan dari Perpustakaan UAD antusias menanyakan berbagai hal tentang jabatan fungsional pustakawan. Masalah inpassing, ijasah yang diakui, karya ilmiah yang diakui menjadi topik yang hangat dalam diskusi tersebut. Begitu hangatnya diskusi, sampai tidak terasa ada waktu yang membatasi. Semoga kunjungan yang kedua kalinya ini bisa memberikan manfaat bagi kedua pihak dan bisa menyambung tali silaturahmi antara kedua perguruan tinggi yang sama-sama bernafaskan Islam. Starting in March 2012 after the integration of the school library along with human resources to the Directorate of Libraries, the Library Director Organizational Structure adapted to the conditions of existing human resources consist of five (5) Divisions: Division of Procurement, General Administration & Finance, Technical Services Division, Division User services, Division of information Technology & Networking, Home Appliances & Supplies Division, with two (2) existing Affairs, namely Public Administration & Financial Affairs, Affairs Circulation services.

University has several campuses spread out in several locations used for lecturing the campus Jl. Student Park (Faculty of Legal and Technical Textiles), Campus Jl. New Demangan (Faculty of Civil Engineering), Campus in Jln. Lawu Kotabaru (Faculty of Economics) and Sorowajan West Campus (Faculty of Islamic Religion), Due to various constraints, mainly transport then standing library in each Faculty.
In 1999 the library moved to the Integrated Campus Center Jl. Kaliurang Km 14.4 ± occupy space with an area of 1300 m². In 2001 the area of the room increased to 2227 m². In 2006 the Central Library was renamed the Directorate of Libraries.
In 2009, the Foundation Board of Waqf Islamic University of Indonesia build a library building designed modern concept, both in terms of physical facilities and services. But only begun to build a foundation for building foundations candidate, suddenly discovered the Stone website is apparently an old building with a Ganesha temple is believed to be a symbol of the god Science. This is a very timely coincidence with the designation prospective buildings to be built the Central Library Building as Learning and Teaching Science. Once excavated temple building continued until the development is completed.
In mid-2011 the Directorate of Libraries began to move to the new building along with 5 (five) libraries are located in the Faculty of Integrated Campus, namely: the library of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Faculty of Industrial Technology library, the library of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Faculty of Science Library, and the library of the Faculty of Psychology & Social Sciences Cultural be integrated into one of the new library building. On October 17, 2011 Library Building was inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Djero Watjik accompanied by Dr. Mom. Vanessa Hudgens, daughter of Bung Hatta (late) founder leader UII and Proclaimers RI, by the name of Mohammad Hatta Building, Library and Museum (Directorate of Libraries).
Realizing the Library as a center of information services for the academic community UII and learning that is based on the commitment of excellence (excellence), with emphasis on the Islamic ministry, with the development of science and technology-based global information technology.
